I had heard it said that if you put a wooden spoon over a pot of boiling water the water will not boil over. This was even mentioned in an email forward Dad sent out not too long ago. Stew and I decided to experiment. This myth is busted. Wrong-o. This picture was taken right before all of that water spilled over the sides and made a nice ring on my stovetop.
